The Patron Spirits Company chose a bee as its logo because of the well-known attraction bees have to Weber blue agave. Weber blue agave is the primary plant from which Patron tequila is made. Weber blue agave is part of the cactus and succulents group of plants.
Weber blue agave can be found growing in the states of Arizona, California, Texas, Florida and Nevada. However, the Weber blue agave that Patron uses is from Jalisco, Mexico. The Patron Spirits Company was founded in 1989, and as of 2014 Patron is sold in over 100 countries worldwide. Patron has an alcohol content of 40 percent.
