As of March 26, 2014, the U.S. House of Representatives is controlled by a Republican majority. The Republicans control a total of 233 seats.
The top two leadership positions in the House are held by Republicans. The Speaker of the House is John Boehner. The House Majority Leader is Eric Cantor. Democrats are the minority party in the House. A total of 199 seats are held by Democrats. They are led by the Minority Leader. Currently, this office is held by Nancy Pelosi. In addition, there are three seats that are currently vacant pending new elections in the respective districts.
