According to the Missouri Department of Motor Vehicles, the driver examination requires parallel parking in a space that is 25 feet long and 7 feet wide. During this section of the exam, the driver must park no more than 18 inches from the curb and in the space’s center.
The examiner tests drivers on how they position the car before backing up and if they turn the wheels in the proper direction before backing into the space. Additionally, the driver must park the vehicle without striking the space markers and within two minutes. The examiner also requires the driver to signal properly before leaving the space.
