How Do You Find Out the Status of Your VA Claim?
A veteran can check the status of his or her compensation and pension claim either by telephone or online, says the Veterans Administration’s website.To check by telephone, the veteran must call the VA at 1-800-827-1000. Online, either the Ask A Question form or the eBenefits portal is available.
The eBenefits portal is located on the VA website. Only eBenefits Premium (Level 2) account holders can check the claim status through the portal. First, log in to the eBenefits account and select My eBenefits. On the “Compensation” tab, select Compensation & Pension Claims Status.
To use the Ask a Question form instead, use the IRIS form. Write the question in the box, then fill out the rest of the fields with the information required, and click “submit.” If all else fails, call the Veterans Administration on the phone and follow the recorded instructions.
