An orange moon, sometimes called the "blood moon," has many superstitions and myths that surround it. Some say it's a sign of the apocalypse or that the world is going to change, while others claim it marks the end of days. Many of these superstitions stem from biblical passages.
The blood moon occurs during a special lunar eclipse which causes the moon to have a vivid red-orange hue of refracted light. Popularized "blood moon prophecy" has caused many people to gain interest in the superstitions surrounding this phenomenon. In many cultures it is seen as an omen or sign of bad luck.
