Norex Anfepramona is a Mexican brand name for the stimulant drug amfepramone. Amfepramone is an amphetamine used for weight loss in cases of severe obesity and a Schedule IV controlled substance in the United States.
In the United States, amfepramone is sold under the brand name Tenuate and the generic name diethylpropion. It is available by prescription only, and as a Schedule IV drug, it is illegal to possess without a prescription. Although its potential for abuse is low compared to related drugs, amfepramone does have limited potential for addiction. As a result, it is indicated only for short-term treatment.
