What Are Some Non-Aspirin Pain Relievers?

Some common non-aspirin pain relievers are ibuprofen, acetaminophen and naproxen sodium. These types of pain relievers are available without a prescription at most local pharmacies and grocery stores.
Ibuprofen and naproxen sodium are classified as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and can effectively be used for fevers, pain and swelling. A well-known brand of ibuprofen is Advil, and a popular brand of naproxen sodium is Aleve. These pain relievers often come in a variety of forms, including tablets, capsules and liquids.
Acetaminophen is used to relieve pain and fight fevers and is mild enough for use in children and pregnant women. Tylenol is the most widely used brand of acetaminophen and is available in various forms and doses as well.
