The two categories of contemporary rival street gangs in Milwaukee are People and Folks. Black Gangster Disciples, Imperial Gangsters and Spanish Cobras are part of the Folks group; Latin Kings, Insane Unknowns and Vice Lords are part of the People category. Among all the aforementioned gangs, only the Latin Kings have ties to Mexican Drug Trafficking Organizations, or MDTOs.
