Coconut oil does not contain any potassium, according to the US Department of Agriculture. Coconut oil does contain a number of other nutrients, however, such as iron, vitamin E and vitamin K.
In each teaspoon of coconut oil, there are 39 calories and 4.5 grams of fat. There is no cholesterol in coconut oil nor are there any carbohydrates. Coconut oil does not contain fiber nor sugar, but unrefined coconut can taste slightly sweet, due to its natural coconut flavor. Refined coconut oil does not have a flavor.
Coconut oil is often used as a cooking oil, and it can be used as a natural beauty product for the skin and hair.
