How Much Horsepower Does a Ford 360 Engine Have?

According to Modern Rodding Enthusiast Books, a 1968 Ford 360 has 401 horsepower. This is virtually the same as the Ford 390 introduced in 1961, which came in two and four barrels.

In addition to the horsepower, the Ford 360 had the same 4.05-inch bore as the Ford 390 and the same 3.50-inch stroke as the Ford 352. Similarly, the Ford 390 was used for trucks and cars while the Ford 360 was used exclusively for pickup trucks. Auto experts from the Fourwheeler Network claim that the Ford 360 never functioned well, as it was heavy and inefficient due to earlier emissions equipment in 1973 that cut out more power than it did emissions.
