A B18 engine has between 130 to 170 horsepower depending on the model type and variation. The B18 engine is found in either VTEC or non-VTEC variations. Multiple variations of the engine are identified by the letter proceeding the engine number.
The first variation of the B18 engine was the B18A non-VTEC variation, which was released in 1986 in Japan. The B18A was a 1.8-liter engine that was able to generate 160 horsepower and 128 feet per pounds of torque. The first variation of the B18 engine found in the United States was the B18A1, which came with the Acura Integra model produced between 1990 and 1993.
