A Mountain Fresh Plus tomato is a large 3.5 inches across big, red tomato. The tomatoes are used as slicers for topping burgers and salads. The tomato is firm and smooth with a sweet, mild taste.
The Mountain Fresh Plus tomato plant was developed by Dr. Randy Gardner at North Carolina State University. It is a heat tolerant variety and is resistant to Fusarium Wilt 1 and 2 and to Verticillium Wilt 1. The plant is moderately salt-tolerant. The plant is determinate and requires eight hours of sunlight. It takes 70 to 80 days to harvest. The plants should be spaced four feet apart with rows four feet apart.
