A moonflower bush is an annual with large trumpet-like white blooms that appear at night. It has a sweet fragrance but is also poisonous in all parts of the plant, particularly the seeds.
The moonflower bush grows 1 to 8 feet high and 1 to 4 feet wide. It prefers full sun with moderate amounts of water and fertilizing. Moonflower bushes bloom during the summer and fall seasons. Great for containers, the moonflower is low maintenance and is drought tolerant as well as deer resistant. Plant moonflower bushes as soon as the frost danger from the cold months has passed.
