How Do You Find the Model Number on Your Sentry Safe?

The location of the model number on a Sentrysafe safe unit depends on the type of safe purchased. On fire-protected models, the model number is located on the faceplate, which is near the logo on the front of the unit.

The Sentrysafe model number on a Steal-safe branded product is typically included on the same label as the serial number, which is attached to the safe unit’s front door panel or on the front side of the owner’s manual. To find the model number for gun-safe units, owners should look on the serial number label located in back of the unit or on the unit’s right side.

Sentrysafe models are locked using a combination lock or LCD electronic keypad, and the company provides instructions on its FAQ page for opening both types of locks. Opening a three-digit combination lock involves turning the dial knob to zero, inserting the key, turning it until the plunger pops up and then turning the dial counterclockwise three times, before stopping on the first number of the combination. The dial turns to the right twice for the second number, and then to the left again for the final number. Unlocking a safe with an electronic keypad involves entering a five-digit code and pressing the enter key.
