What Is a Military GT Score?
Last Updated Apr 4, 2020 11:45:13 AM ET
The military GT score is the "General Technical" test area of the United States Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test and is a measure of word knowledge, paragraph comprehension and arithmetic reasoning. These line scores determine which military occupational specialty an individual may qualify for.
Many military occupational specialties have minimum requirements for particular line scores, however, the United States military has many jobs available in each branch that maximize the strengths and aptitudes of a recruit. For the Army, a GT line score of 110 qualifies a recruit for several jobs including diver, Special Forces Weapons Sergeant and journalist.
