The Methodist Apostles’ Creed is a declaration that outlines the core of beliefs in the Methodist church. It is frequently recited by members during church services.
The Methodist hymnals have the Apostles Creed written in them, as it frequently read during worship. The Apostles’ Creed declares belief in an almighty God who created heaven and earth. It also affirms a belief in Jesus Christ, God’s only son, and proclaims him as Lord. This creed declares a belief in Jesus’ miraculous conception and birth by the virgin, Mary. Reciting belief in Jesus’ death and resurrection, the Apostles’ Creed ends with professions about the church, the Holy Spirit and the afterlife.
