The quality of a Mason & Risch piano is evaluated based on its date of manufacture. Mason & Risch began making pianos in the late 1800s. Their pianos dropped in quality when they were bought by Winter & Company, a division of the Aeolian-American Corporation, in 1948.
Mason & Risch was a Canadian piano company that used the slogan “Great Is The Privilege Of Achievement.” The company also built organs under the brand name Vocalian and other pianos under the brand name T. Eaton for Eaton Department Store chain. Aeolian discontinued the Mason & Risch brand name when it went out of business in the 1980s.
