In the Weight Watchers PointsPlus program, participants have at least 26 points for each day. After signing up for the program, participants use the Weight Watchers calculator to find how many points they are allotted in addition to the 26-point minimum, according to the official Weight Watchers website.
The Weight Watchers PointsPlus program differs from the older points-based program, because the daily minimum number is higher and each food has a whole-number point value. Besides the daily points, participants have a weekly allowance of 49 PointsPlus values. Some use the PointsPlus values for extra food each day, while others save up for special occasions. The 49 PointsPlus values are optional; participants are not required to hit both their daily and weekly point allotments, notes Weight Watchers.
