The official coroner's report lists Bonnie Parker's body as having 26 bullet wounds and Clyde Barrow's body as having 17 bullet wounds. However, researchers have stated that there were around 25 total bullets in each corpse.
It is thought that the pair of notorious criminals died instantly from their wounds. Reports indicate that the officers continued to fire on the car they were driving even after it rolled into a ditch. The pair were ambushed on May 23, 1934 by six police officers near Sailes, Bienville Parish, La. They were suspected of an array of killings and were wanted for murder, robbery and kidnapping.
