According to Country Living Magazine, a 2-quart pitcher of hot-brewed iced tea requires four to six tea bags. The actual number of tea bags you should use depends on the desired strength of the iced tea.
A pitcher of hot-brewed iced tea or sun tea requires fewer tea bags than a pitcher of cold-brewed tea. When making cold-brewed iced tea, place up to 10 tea bags in the pitcher before steeping it in the refrigerator. When using loose tea, 3 tablespoons of tea leaves is the approximate equivalent of six tea bags. The amount of tea used for iced tea may vary according to taste.
