How Many Roma Tomatoes Are in a Pound?

There are approximately four to eight Roma tomatoes in a pound, depending on the variety grown. A single Roma tomato can weigh from 2 to 4 ounces and measure 2 to 3 inches in length. Some larger Roma varieties produce fruits that weigh as much as 8 to 12 ounces.

One small variety, Cherry Roma, produces 1-ounce fruits. Some Roma shapes include oval, pear-shaped and tubular. Roma is a variety of plum tomato commonly grown for sauces and tomato paste. Five pounds of Roma tomatoes make 1 quart of homemade marinara or 2 to 3 cups of homemade tomato paste.
