How Many Children Did King David Have in the Bible?

The Bible names 19 sons and one daughter belonging to King David, who had at least seven wives and many concubines. It is unknown exactly how many children King David fathered.
The sons named in the Bible are Amnon, Daniel (Chileab), Absalom, Adonijah, Shephatiah, Ithream, Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet, Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, Elishama, Eliada and Eliphelet. According to 2 Chronicles 11:18, Jerimoth, who is not mentioned in any of the genealogies, is another of King David’s sons. Sons born by his concubines are not named. David also had at least one daughter, Tamar, who was raped by her half-brother Amnon. Tamar's rape led to Amnon's death. Additional daughters are not mentioned in the Bible.
