How Many Carrots in a Bunch?

There are approximately four to six carrots in a bunch with tops, depending on the length and diameter of the carrots. There are approximately six to eight topped carrots, which are sold by weight, in a 1-pound bag. A 2-pound bag contains 12 to 16 topped carrots.

A bunch of six to eight medium-sized carrots produces approximately 3 cups chopped and 2.5 cups grated.

Freshly bunched carrots can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks when the tops are removed and they are stored in a plastic bag. Commercially grown carrots are graded by size, including length, diameter, color and quality and must meet U.S. Department of Agriculture standards in order to be approved for sale.
