Texas is home to a total of seven Air Force bases. Three are located in the San Antonio area, and the others are spread out from north to south across the central part of the state.

Goodfellow Air Force Base, located in San Angelo, is a nonflying base that is used to train personnel in the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps and Navy. Another notable base, Laughlin AFB, is located in Del Rio and is the largest military base for pilot training in the Air Force. Sheppard AFB, in Wichita Falls, is the largest site for air education and training.
