A standard American football field is 1.32 acres. The standard size for an American football field, including the end zones, is 360 feet long by 160 feet wide, or 57,600 square feet.

An American football field, if the end zones are omitted, is 300 feet long. This reduces its area to 48,000 square feet, which is 1.1 acres. An acre is defined as an area of 43,560 square feet. The two end zones in football are 10 yards, or 30 feet long. Centered on the length of the field, on either side, are the coaching boxes and team areas. The coaching boxes are 6 feet from the edge of the field, 6 feet wide and 120 feet long.
