How Do You Make a Rose With a Keyboard?

An ASCII rose can most easily be created using regular keyboard keys by typing “@}-,-‘–.” This rose can be varied by typing additional commas and apostrophes or by using more dashes to make its stem longer.

More complex roses can be made by using ASCII charts while typing in a monospaced font such as Courier New. These images make pictures out of text or symbols in standard fonts. While some art uses simple symbols or single letters, other art goes deeper, using a word repeated over and over in the design or the words of a story or poem to shape an image. For users who don’t have the patience to create these intricate designs, text-to-image programs can generate ASCII art from pictures or drawings.
