How Do You Make Print Layout the Default View Layout in Microsoft Word?
To make Print Layout the default view in Microsoft Word 2013, go to Word, then File and then Options. In the General tab, uncheck the box next to “Open e-mail attachments and other editable files in reading view.”
-
Navigate to the Word Options menu
Unlike previous versions of Microsoft Word, which opened files in Print Layout view by default, Word 2013 opens documents in Read Mode by default. To change this setting, navigate to the Word Options menu by clicking, Word, then File, then Options.
-
Click on the General tab
In the Word Options menu, select the General tab located at the top of the left menu bar.
-
Uncheck the appropriate box
At the bottom of the window, under Start Up Options, uncheck the box next to “Open e-mail attachments and other uneditable files in reading view.” With this box unchecked, Word opens files in Print Layout view by default. This view allows you to view the document as it would appear when printed.
