Frozen bacon generally has a shelf life of six to eight months. Bacon often freezes best when it is placed unopened in an airtight container. Other bacon products, such as bacon bits, last up to six months while unopened and around six weeks when opened. Bacon bits can be frozen for up to six months. Any bacon that has a sour smell, slimy texture or grey appearance should not be consumed.
