How Do You Locate VIN Numbers on Mobile Homes?
Last Updated Apr 7, 2020 7:35:03 PM ET
Mobile homes that were manufactured before 1976 have a data plate complete with the vehicle identification number (VIN) attached inside the home, usually found on the door of a closet. Additionally, the VIN is also stamped on the front steel beam. This is the beam that supports the tow hitch.
Legal purchasing documents may also list the VIN number. These may include the title or deed to the mobile home, mortgage lender documents, homeowners insurance documents and other real estate documents. In the case of a missing VIN number, homeowners can file paperwork with their local authorities for a lost title.
