As of 2015, there are multiple lists of active U.S. Army generals available online. The Army's official website at Army.mil details the top commanding figures of the branch, and Wikipedia.com features comprehensive lists of current and past four-star generals of the Army.
Both of the above websites display, for each general, his or her rank in descending order of authority: four-star general, lieutenant general, major general and brigadier general. A color picture is also provided, as is the assigned post of command for every general. The difference between Army staff and command positions is made clear, as the two departments are separated on the lists.
