There are no proven studies to conclude that lime keeps snakes away. Lime can be dangerous to people and pets, especially when it becomes wet. It can cause severe burns and blindness in humans and animals.
Many people believe that the best way to deter snakes is to make homes and gardens less attractive to them. Removing food sources can help reduce the amount of snakes in an area. Keeping the yard clean and the grass cut low gives snakes fewer places to slither away to for cover. Keeping the yard free of debris and keeping all outdoor trashcans sealed tightly also keeps snakes away.
