Who Makes Kenmore Appliances?

Many different manufacturers make Kenmore appliances, including Whirlpool, Bosch, Roper, Amana, Haier, Corning, Samsung and Electrolux. Sears established the Kenmore brand in the early 1900s. In 1913, Sears introduced the first Kenmore brand product, which was a sewing machine.

Sears does not manufacture any appliances. Different manufacturers make different types of appliances, such as refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, ovens, freezers, air purifiers, dryers, washers and microwaves. These appliances are branded with the name Kenmore and sold by Sears.

To know a product line’s manufacturer, it is important to know the complete model number, which is found on the identification tag of the appliance. The prefix number on the model number identifies the manufacturer. For example, the prefix 103 in a model number, identifies an appliance as a Roper product.
