The Kaiser Silver&Fit Fitness program is an exercise and fitness plan available to older adults. Those enrolled in the program enjoy access to features such as membership in fitness facilities, online fitness resources, a rewards program and at-home fitness kits.
Older adults who join the Silver&Fit Fitness program can choose either a full or basic membership, explains Kaiser Permanente. Members with full plans are able to partake in specialized Silver&Fit exercise classes at a nearby participating fitness club. The basic plan provides access to several fitness facilities and exercise centers, but members with this plan don't have entry to the specialized Silver&Fit exercise classes.
Another option available to Silver&Fit Fitness enrollees is the Home Fitness Program. This is a great choice for older adults who prefer to get in their workouts at home. Members who sign up for this option are able to request up to two fitness kits every year that they remain in the program. Each kit includes a booklet along with workout equipment related to the type of exercise kit the member requested. For example, a walking kit may come with a pedometer, while a kit featuring exercises to strengthen the muscles may include a balance ball and DVD showing how to perform various exercises.
