An IQ score of 108 is good. The average IQ is 100. A score of 108 indicates the test taker had a score greater than the majority of his or her peers.

While the 108 score is slightly above average, the test taker is not considered gifted. To be considered gifted, the test taker needs to score at or above 115. This 115 score is one standard deviation above the average score of 100. To qualify for elite Mensa membership, the test taker needs to be in the top 2 percent of test takers.

IQ tests measure certain intelligences, such as logic and reasoning. Standardized tests do not measure other important intelligences, like creativity and sociability.
