What Is an IP 272 Pill?

Also identified as sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim, an IP 272 pill is a drug that is used in treating different conditions that are caused by bacteria. The pill can be used to treat shigellosis, urinary tract infections, bronchitis, traveler’s diarrhea and ear infections.

An IP 272 pill is a combination of two drugs namely sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim, which are both antibiotics. A person with anemia, kidney disease or low blood platelets should not use this pill. People who are allergic to trimethoprim or sulfamethoxazole should not take an IP 272, as stated by Drugs. Its use has several side effects, such as diarrhea, cold symptoms, weakness and severe skin reaction.
