What Are the Ingredients in Aquafina?

The only ingredient in Aquafina is water. The water that is used for bottling Aquafina is purified water that comes from a public water source, such as from public water reservoirs.

Aquafina, which is made by PepsiCo, undergoes what the bottler refers to as a seven-step purification system, also known as HydRO-7. These steps include pre-filtration, which eliminates some of the minute things found in tap water or other public water systems; polishing filter, a further straining of microscopic materials; high-intensity light, an ultraviolet light that destroys organic substances typically found in water; reverse osmosis, a pressure filtering system that takes out approximately 98 percent of the total dissolved solids in the water; charcoal filtration, which is a final filtering process; polishing filter, which is a repeat of the process done earlier; and ozonation, which purifies the water further with an oxygen-generating cell.
