For Gameshark users, the rare candy code does not work right away because the item bag needs to be in a certain order. Simply put a single potion at the top of the bag, followed by 99 pieces of orange mail with the rest of the items below it. After the bag is organized, type the code into the Gameshark with the description “RARE CANDY” to turn the mail into the special item.
