Why Is It Important to Have Military Discipline?
Military discipline is essential for members of the military because it helps build character and contribute to a cohesive team. Without military discipline, members of military divisions, units and platoons likely wouldn’t be able to function as one team during missions, exercises and training.
Military discipline is something that is instilled into members of the military starting in boot camp. Recruits learn how to have self discipline, group discipline and task discipline through various exercises and activities during boot camp.
Imposed discipline is also used by members of the military. This is the type of discipline that servicemen and women use when they follow rules, regulations and instructions without questioning why they must do so.
