The Latin honor "summa cum laude" is usually awarded to a student who graduated with highest honors from high school. This distinction is typically awarded to students graduating with a GPA of 4.0 and above. Other honors include magna cum laude (high honors) and cum laude (honors).
Eastview High School recognizes its graduates with the highest honors if they score 98 percent and above on the SAT, ACT or PSAT test. Graduates with a score of 95 percent on the same tests are awarded high honors. The honors distinction is awarded to graduates in the top 10 percent of their graduating class using regular ranking.
