A high LDH level often indicates that there are high amounts of tissue damage. An LDH test, also known as a lactate dehydrogenase test, is done to evaluate different medical conditions.
The LDH test measures the level of lactate dehydrogenase in the blood. This is an enzyme typically found in the majority of the body’s cells. The presence of a high number of the enzymes can indicate that parts of the body have suffered from tissue or cellular damage.
