Hercules is most known for his courage and self-confidence. Both of these traits are partly results of Hercules' physical strength; he was deemed the strongest man on Earth. At one point, Hercules was considered crazy and unpredictable because he was driven mad by Hera, the wife of the Greek god Zeus.
Known as "Heracles" in literature, Hercules was a mortal mythological figure. Although human, he was considered stronger than some Greek gods. He was the son of Zeus, and his physical strength was a counterpoint to his lack of intelligence and wisdom. Although considered primitive and violent, he was also regarded as loyal to his friends.
