According to the Body Mass Index chart provided by Rush University Medical Center, a healthy weight for a person who is five feet, two inches tall is between 104 and 131 pounds. BMI charts are not an exact science because amounts of bone, muscle and fat vary by body type.
According to the BMI chart, someone who is five feet, two inches tall and under 104 pounds is underweight, between 136 and 158 pounds is overweight and over 164 pounds is obese. According to the American Cancer Society, BMI is calculated by BMI = (weight in pounds x 703) ÷ (height in inches x height in inches), and a healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9.
