The gross vehicle weight rating, or GVWR, of a Ford F550 is a maximum of 19,500 pounds. This is for the DRW 4x4 model work truck, according to Ford Motor Company.
The F550 chassis cab work truck comes in a number of variations that could lower the GVWR. Engine variations include turbo diesel and 8- or 10-cylinder gasoline. The cab can either be a super cab or the larger crew cab, and 4x4 and 4x2 drives are available. The rated GVWR includes full tanks of all standard fluids for a vehicle, and the F550 DRW comes with the optional dual diesel fuel tanks, rather than a single 40-gallon gas tank.
