What Is a Good Jogging Pace?
Last Updated Mar 27, 2020 5:01:15 AM ET

A good jogging pace for most people is anything over 5 miles per hour (8 kilometers per hour). Runners World indicates that a slower pace is walking speed and a faster pace is running speed. The pace is, however, dependent on the individual and his level of fitness.
Besides the jogging pace, an individual needs to monitor his heart rate and breathing rate to determine his ideal pace. Runners World suggests that beginners visit a doctor for a physical examination to ascertain their level of physical fitness and to help them determine their ideal heart rates.
Once the physical examination rules out any problems, the person can start with a slow jog and build up speed as the body gets accustomed to exercise.
