In general, the gecko can symbolize longevity, because their species have existed long into history. The species can also symbolize mobility, flexibility, agility, intelligence and fertility. They can also represent autonomy and renewal, because in emergency situations, they cut off their own tail to avoid being caught by predators, then grow it back later when they are safe.
Lizard tattoos can be located on many parts of the body. For women, they usually appear on the lower back, stomach, or ankles. For men, they appear larger on the arms or back.
