General Electric issued a recall in 2004 of ranges and wall ovens that had faulty wiring that could melt and cause short circuits. The Spectra designation applied to a range of models with specific feature sets, and certain Spectra models were included in the recall.
Model numbers for General Electric ranges can be found on the front frame behind the oven door or inside the drawer, on the left front leg, under the front left surface unit or under the cook top. It is necessary to have the model number to order replacement parts, request user manuals or access recall information.
