To freeze green tomatoes, wash them, remove the core, slice into 1/4-inch-thick slices and place in a container. Separate layers using freezer paper, and leave a 1/2-inch gap between the top layer and the container lid.
- Wash the tomatoes
Gently rub each tomato while holding it under cool running water.
- Remove the core and slice tomatoes
Using a paring knife, cut around the stem of the tomato and remove it. Cut the tomato into 1/4-inch-thick slices.
- Place the tomatoes in a container
Place the tomato slices into a container that is appropriate for freezing. Separate tomatoes into layers with freezer paper. Leave a 1/2-inch gap between the top layer and the lid of the container.
