“Freaking,” according to Dictionary.com, is an adverb or adjective form of freak that is used to emphasize a point. In this regard, it is not a bad word, but profanity is often contextual.
Since “freakin” or “freaking” is often used as a less offensive substitute for a more intense word, it can become a mental substitute, meaning that it might be linguistically assigned the same or a similar meaning. Profanity, though, has changed with the times, though curse words themselves have typically evolved from words that could either be considered blasphemous or refer to some sort of social taboo.
