The four majors in men’s golf in the order in which they are played each year are the Master’s, the U.S. Open, the British Open (or the Open Championship) and the PGA Championship. Winning all four of these tournaments in a single year constitutes winning the Grand Slam of Golf.

The oldest of these tournaments is the British Open, which began in the 1860s and is played annually in July. The U.S. Open, first played in 1895, is held each year in June. The PGA Championship is played in August and dates back to 1916. All three of these tournaments rotate courses over the years. Augusta, Ga. is always home to the Master’s, the youngest of the four majors. It began in 1934 and always occurs in April.
