Who Are Some Former QVC Hosts?

Former QVC personalities include Victor Velez, Gwen Owens and Dale Madison. Velez was the first Latino to secure a hosting position. He hosted for two years before the network refused to renew his contract. After the split, Velez filed a lawsuit against QVC, alleging racial discrimination.

Former host Gwen Owens joined Velez in the lawsuit. Her contract ended in 1998. While on the air, Owens primarily worked at night, which was part of her legal complaint against the network. Owens went on to work as a broadcaster with a cable news show.

Dale Madison worked as a QVC host from 1991 until 1995. He co-founded the organization Actors Against Drugs and also volunteered with several AIDS advocacy organizations. In 2009, he wrote and produced a documentary about his time as a QVC host. Madison is an actor, public speaker and spoken word artist.

Kathy Levine started with QVC upon its debut and spent 14 years hosting on the network. She left when company executives refused to sell her private clothing collection. After her departure, the network sued Levine over allegations that she personally contacted QVC customers to market her clothing line, which was to appear on a competing shopping channel.
